From signup to your first auto-applied job

This is the definitive end-to-end guide to getting WizJob applying to jobs for you. By the end, you'll have a verified account, a parsed resume, and a live WizBot submitting tailored applications and following up with recruiters — all running in the background while you get on with your day. It's written for someone who has just signed up and wants to do it properly rather than take the five-minute express route. Set aside about twenty minutes for setup; the bot then works on its own indefinitely.

The full procedure

1. 1

   Create and verify your account

   Sign up with email, Google, or LinkedIn. If you used email, open the verification message we send and click the link — verification unlocks WizBot creation. Google and LinkedIn sign-ups are verified automatically through secure OAuth.

   Turn on two-factor authentication

   Before you add anything sensitive, go to Settings → Security and enable 2FA. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, confirm the six-digit code, and save your backup codes. Your account will hold your resume and job history, so this two-minute step is worth doing up front.

   Add a resume

   Go to Resumes and either upload your existing file so WizJob can parse it into structured fields, or use the AI Resume Builder to generate one from scratch. Review the parsed result and fix anything the parser misread — clean, single-column resumes come through most accurately.

   Create your first WizBot

   From the dashboard, click New WizBot and give it a descriptive name like 'Senior Frontend – Remote'. A clear name pays off later when you're scanning your activity log or running more than one bot.

   Set your targeting

   Choose your target role using the exact title you'd search for, set a minimum salary floor so the bot skips underpaid roles, and pick your job types (full-time, contract, remote, hybrid, on-site). Then add any companies to exclude — your current employer is the classic example.

   Attach your resume

   In the bot's settings, attach the resume you added in step 3. This exact file is what the bot submits with every application, so pick the version best suited to the role.

   Launch the bot

   Start it. WizBot immediately begins scanning LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Wellfound and other boards, submitting tailored applications to roles that match, and sending personalized recruiter follow-ups so those applications get seen.

   Watch the activity log

   Open your activity log and refresh through the day. You'll see scanned jobs, submitted applications, follow-ups sent, and skips with reasons. This is your proof that everything is working — and your feedback loop for tuning.

Troubleshooting

• No verification email arrived — check your spam folder, then use the Resend link on the verify screen. Bot creation stays locked until your email is confirmed.
• The bot won't launch — you almost certainly haven't attached a resume. A WizBot needs a resume to submit, so add one and try again.
• The log fills with 'below salary floor' or 'wrong job type' skips — your targeting is too strict. Lower the salary floor a little or add another job type.
• The bot is applying to roles that aren't right — your targeting is too loose. Use a more specific role title, raise the salary floor, or add exclusions.
• Nothing is happening at all — confirm the bot is set to active rather than paused on your dashboard.
