Configure targeting: role, salary, job type, exclusions
Tune exactly which jobs your WizBot applies to using role, salary floor, job type, and an exclusion list.
Targeting is how you tell a WizBot what a good job looks like. Getting it right is the single biggest lever on quality — precise targeting means the bot applies to fewer, better-fitting roles; loose targeting casts a wider net. Every setting can be changed at any time without recreating the bot.
Target role
The role title anchors everything. Use the title you'd actually search for. If your background spans two titles (say 'Data Analyst' and 'Business Analyst'), consider running a separate bot for each rather than one vague bot — you'll get cleaner matching and clearer analytics.
Minimum salary
Set a salary floor and WizBot skips roles that publish a lower band. This filters out mismatches automatically. If you're seeing too few applications, lowering the floor slightly often opens up a lot of listings that simply advertise a wider range.
Job type
- Full-time, contract, part-time — match your availability.
- Remote, hybrid, on-site — filter by how and where you want to work.
- Combine types to widen reach, or narrow to one for a focused search.
Excluded companies
Add any company you don't want the bot to apply to — your current employer, past employers, or organizations you'd rather avoid. The exclusion list is absolute: an excluded company is never contacted, even if a role is a perfect match.
Start narrow, then widen
It's easier to loosen a precise bot than to clean up after a broad one. Begin with tight targeting for a day, review the activity log, then relax the settings that are filtering out roles you'd actually want.
