Install & configure the browser extension for off-platform applications

Set up the WizJob browser extension so you can auto-fill applications on company career pages and one-off portals.

WizBots handle applications on the boards WizJob supports, but plenty of roles live on company career pages and bespoke portals that ask for the same information every time. The browser extension carries your profile with you across the web and auto-fills those forms, turning a ten-minute chore into a few clicks. This guide covers installing it, signing in, configuring it, and using it safely on any career site. It's for anyone applying off-platform who's tired of copy-pasting from their resume.

What you'll need

A supported desktop browser, your WizJob account credentials, and a complete profile in WizJob — the more of your details are filled in, the more the extension can auto-fill for you.

Install and configure

  1. Add the extension

Install the WizJob extension for your browser from its extensions page. Installation takes a few seconds and adds the extension to your browser.

  2. Sign in with your WizJob account

Open the extension and sign in. It securely shares your existing WizJob session, so the details you've already entered on the platform are immediately available in the extension.

  3. Pin it to your toolbar

Pin the extension so it's one click away on any site. You'll reach for it often, and pinning saves digging through your browser's extensions menu each time.

  4. Confirm your profile is complete

Because the extension fills forms from your WizJob profile, take a moment to make sure your contact details, experience, and other fields are current. Anything missing there is anything it can't fill for you.

  5. Open a real application form

Navigate to a job application on any career site — a company careers page, a small portal, wherever the role lives.

  6. Trigger auto-fill

Open the extension and let it populate the form from your profile: name, contact details, experience, and more drop straight in.

  7. Review, then submit

Always glance over the filled form before submitting. Every site is a little different, so a ten-second check catches anything site-specific and confirms each field landed where it should.

A quick review pays off

Auto-fill is fast, but no two application forms are identical. Reviewing before you hit submit is the difference between a clean application and one with a field in the wrong place.

Pro tip: it complements your bots

Because the extension shares your WizJob session, applications it fills stay consistent with the profile your WizBots use. Your applications look the same whether they're submitted automatically on a supported board or by hand on a career page.

Troubleshooting

  • The extension won't sign in — confirm you're logged into WizJob in the same browser, then reopen the extension so it can pick up your session.
  • Fields are left blank — the matching detail is probably missing from your WizJob profile; add it there and the extension will fill it next time.
  • A field filled incorrectly — that site's form is non-standard. Correct it manually before submitting; the review step exists for exactly this.
  • You can't find the extension — pin it to your toolbar so it's always one click away.

Next steps

  • Install the browser extension — the focused install reference.
  • Auto-fill on any career site — get the most out of auto-fill on off-platform forms.
  • Connect LinkedIn, Greenhouse & Lever and verify your auto-apply coverage — automate the boards the extension doesn't need to cover.
  • Reading your tracker & analytics — off-platform applications are logged too, so keep an eye on the numbers.
