A full interview-prep routine before a big interview

The calmest way into an interview is to have already had it several times. This guide gives you a complete prep routine that layers WizJob's three practice modes — quiz to learn, voice to rehearse delivery, real-time to pressure-test — into a sequence you run in the days before a big interview. It's for anyone with an interview on the calendar who wants a structured plan rather than random practice. Follow it over three to five days and you'll walk in articulate, structured, and composed.

The routine

   Day 1 — Build breadth in Quiz mode

   Open Interview Prep, point the session at your specific role, and choose Quiz mode. Work through questions at your own pace to build coverage and learn the frameworks for structured answers. The goal today is exposure, not perfection.

2. 2

   Day 1 — Review your feedback and note weak spots

   After the quiz, read the per-answer feedback across content, structure, delivery, and relevance. Write down the one or two weakest areas — these become your focus for the days ahead.

   Day 2 — Rehearse delivery in Voice mode

   Switch to Voice mode, where the AI speaks questions aloud and you answer by talking. Saying an answer is very different from thinking it, so use this to smooth out filler words, pacing, and rambling. Concentrate on the weak areas you noted.

   Day 3 — Redo your weakest answers

   Rather than grinding random questions, redo the specific answers your feedback flagged. Iterating on named weaknesses moves your score far faster than broad, unfocused repetition.

   Day 4 — Pressure-test in Real-time mode

   Move to Real-time mode for a flowing, back-and-forth conversation with follow-up questions. This is the closest simulation to a live interview — reach for it in the final stretch to rehearse under realistic pressure and get used to thinking on your feet.

   Ongoing — Answer the daily question

   Each day, answer the daily question out loud. A few minutes of consistent practice keeps you sharp and stops you starting cold, and it compounds far better than one panicked marathon the night before.

   Interview eve — A light real-time run

   The day before, do one relaxed Real-time session to confirm your delivery and settle your nerves. Watch your score trend upward across sessions as tangible proof you're ready, then stop and rest.

Troubleshooting

• Your score isn't rising — you may be spreading effort too thin. Pick one weak area from your feedback and redo only those questions until it improves.
• Voice or real-time mode can't hear you — check your browser's microphone permission and that the right input device is selected, then retry in a quieter space.
• You freeze on follow-ups — spend an extra Real-time session specifically rehearsing the back-and-forth; it's a skill that improves quickly with reps.
• You're running out of days — compress the routine: one Quiz session for breadth, then alternate Voice and Real-time. Prioritize speaking out loud over reading.
